Amanda Davids enters the spotlight as a musician with a unique musical vision. With an arsenal of instruments including the Piano, Hammond Organ and a powerful three and a half octave soul voice, Davids has declared it her mission to reintroduce the virtuoso into popular music.
Taking inspiration from fusion Jazz /Funk and Urban innovators before her, such as Herbie Hancock, Soulive, Medeski,
Martin and Wood and The Roots, Davids has created her own unique fusion. As a student of world renowned jazz organist Tony Monaco, Davids debuts on the Hammond A-100 in her lead single "
Naughty Boy" off her upcoming EP. The single is set to be released with a kickoff party November 24 at Dazzling Lounge in Toronto, Ontario.
As composer, co-producer and performer of all keyboard and vocals, Davids' talent as a singer/songwriter and performer are revealed. Either performing solo or accompanied by her team of musical specialists, 8 String Guitarist Shai Locke and Turntabalist/Beatboxer Dj Xplisit, Davids continues to gather attention with her unique instrumentation and sound.
Davids' dedication to the evolution of music continues to grow as she anticipates the release of her debut EP album due out February 2012. Poised to be highly influential, this album combines all the elements of Davids' unique sound; heavy funk, hip hop, soul and jazz elements with hints of classical all tied together with a modern production style. 2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for her with the EP release and tours of
Europe and Canada.
