Foster The People Receives Grammy Nominations For 'Best Alternative Album' And 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Columbia Records) 2011 has been an incredible year for Foster The People. Columbia Records is proud to announce that the Los Angeles based trio has received two Grammy® nominations for 'Best Alternative Album' and 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.'

This news comes on the heels of the band's gold certification of their celebrated album Torches. Earlier this month the band's single, "Pumped Up Kicks," was certified 3x platinum. The band recently made stops at SNL and Ellen to perform the hit single. They also made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman where they played their second single "Helena Beat" and next month the band will return to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to perform their next single "Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)."

Torches gained global attention with its Top 10 Billboard chart debut in May. The albumis chalk full of "upbeat, multicultural left-of-center pop" songs that are shaped by Mark Foster's "sharp pop songwriting and crisp productions," explains the Los Angeles Times who were early supporters of the local band. To date Torches has generated singles in "Pumped Up Kicks," "Helena Beat," "Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)" and "Call It What You Want."

For Foster the People's next single "Don't Stop (Color On The Walls)," the band worked with the UK MVA 'Video of the Year' awarded duo Daniels to film a 3D music video for the Nintendo Video™ service on the Nintendo 3DS™ system. The video, which co-stars Gabourey Sidibe, will debut on December 8th in 3D without the need for special glasses on Nintendo 3DS systems. It'll also air on MTV, mtvU, MTV Hits, MTV.com and VH1.com. Tune into MTV2's 120 Minutes on December 9th and VH1's Top 20 Countdown on December 10th to catch the video.
