Adele Garners Six Grammy Award Nominations
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Columbia Records) Adele earns an impressive six GRAMMY Award Nominations for her hugely successful sophomore album 21. Adele has been nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Short Form Music Video. Nominations for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced earlier tonight by The Recording Academy®at a ceremony in Los Angeles.

Adele's sophomore album 21 is the biggest selling album of 2011 with over 13 million units sold worldwide. 21 spent 39 consecutive weeks in the top 5 of Billboard Top Albums chart since it's release in February, the most weeks by any artist in the chart's 55 year history. According to Billboard, "It surpasses Michael Jackson's "Bad," which racked 38 straight frames in the top five following its bow at No. 1 on Sept. 27, 1987." This week in New York, Adele was presented with a plaque commemorating 5 million albums and 11 million singles sold in the U.S. (See attached).

Adele's recently released DVD/CD Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall has garnered rave reviews from the critics with Rolling Stone acknowledging her "poise of a superstar" in their 4 star review. Adele Live At The Royal Albert Hall is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and features the full 90 minute performance, plus behind the scenes footage shot throughout that day. The package also contains an exclusive live CD of the entire show. This is the first time fans will be able to hear all of Adele's hits and best loved songs on one CD plus her stunning covers of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" and The Steeldrivers "If It Hadn't Been For Love."
