BURBANK, Calif. (Warner Bros. Records) - Acclaimed saxophone virtuoso Boney James will embark on an extensive U.S. tour this summer to celebrate the release of his new album "Pure" out August 3rd (Warner Bros.).
'Pure On Tour' will bring James' distinctive blend of R&B, jazz, pop and soul to audiences from coast to coast.

"Pure" will be James' ninth album for Warner Bros. Records and the first album with James solely at the helm as Producer. James co-wrote every song, played a variety of instruments and handpicked a number of innovative vocalists -- including Bilal, Dwele, Ledisi, and newcomer Debi Nova -- to realize his musical vision. "Pure" was mixed by Serban Ghenea, whose wizardry has enhanced smash albums for Justin Timberlake, N*E*R*D, Janet Jackson, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears and others.

In advance of the album's August 3rd release, two singles are being released simultaneously to radio. "Here She Comes," the first instrumental track, is currently the Number One Most Added song at Smooth Jazz radio with 75% of the stations adding the song in its very first week. The first vocal track, "Better With Time" (featuring Bilal), goes to Urban Adult Contemporary radio this week.

"The great joy of 'Pure' is that I made all the decisions about everything," the artist explains. "I was always confident in making music, but I was curious too, and a lot of times in the past I couldn't address that. I used to like to work with other producers because I felt I had too many ideas, as if I was undisciplined. But on this record I allowed myself to explore even some of my crazier ideas. A lot of them turned out to reflect more of my true musical sensibility than anything else I'd ever done. There was a lot of growth involved in making this record. The experience has changed me a lot. And I couldn't be happier with the results. It's just ... pure."

With sold-out concerts, GOLD albums ("Seduction," "Sweet Thing," "Body Language," and "Ride"), a Soul Train Award and a Grammy nomination, Boney James has garnered a worldwide reputation as a consummate performer both on stage and in the studio.

'Pure On Tour' will preview songs from the upcoming album and spotlight much of his best-known material from the full span of his career. Notable stops on the tour will include the Essence Festival in New Orleans, July 1st (with special guest Bilal); two appearances, June 18th and 19th at Chicago's Skyline Stage and a headlining performance later this year at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, October 10th.
