NEW YORK (www.davidissaacs.com) - Dave Isaacs has been called "a master musician" and "a natural-born storyteller". His virtuoso abilities as a guitarist are anchored by finely developed songcraft, a lifelong love of traditional music, and a jazzman's improvisational spirit. Formally schooled in the technique and repertoire of the Spanish classical guitar but inspired and deeply influenced by the holy trinity of 1960's English guitar heroes (Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page), this is an artist that is difficult to sum up in a single sentence.

Though best known for his work in the Americana/roots world as a solo artist and as frontman for the NY-based country-rock band Jackalope Junction, Isaacs' latest CD Flying is an all-instrumental project showcasing his skills as a guitarist and composer. Most of the album's 10 tracks were improvised on the spot in the studio, and performed on an array of Parker Fly guitars. An acoustic roots album is in the works for late 2004, with country-blues maverick Preacher Boy producing and contributing resonator guitar.

The summer tour kicks off July 1 with a CD release party at the historic Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, a restored vaudeville house in Riverhead, NY dating from the 1880's. Other tour highlights will include the Summer Jam 04 festival in Ithaca, NY (headlined by Grateful Dead keyboardist Vince Welnick), a stop at the NAMM Summer Session musical instrument trade show in Nashville (promoting Parker Guitars, which are prominently featured on the new CD Flying), and a festival of acoustic and old-time music at Wiley's Last Resort atop Pine Mountain outside Whitesburg, KY. Dave will also spend a week teaching for the National Guitar Workshop at Middle Tennessee State University in Nashville.
