NEW YORK (Victory Records) - Hawthorne Heights debut album is taking off - first week sales figures are in and they are amazing! "The Silence In Black and White" sold 3458 units in its first week (total sales are 3789 due to some early reporters), debuting at No 31 on Billboard's New Artist chart, as well as charting in New York (No 181), Louisville, KY (No 37) and their hometown of Dayton, OH (No 37). This is a huge week for any artist, by way of comparison, Taking Back Sunday (Victory's top seller) debuted at No 86 with 2296 in sales.

Much of the buzz surrounding Hawthorne Heights with the free music posted at Pure Volume - they are No 10 on the Total Plays Artist Chart, No 7 on the Top Signed Artists Chart, and No 6 on the Top Songs Today Chart, with a total of 108, 911 plays.
A great U.S. tour with label mates Silverstein is underway, and coverage is confirmed in Alternative Press, Hit Parader, Skratch, Law of Inertia and Mean Street.
Hawthorne Heights is enjoying great airplay as well - CMJ reports the album at No 62 in the Top 200 after four weeks.

Hawthorne Heights recorded "The Silence In Black And White" over four weeks in Madison, WI at Smart Studios and in Chicago, IL at Big Gold Studios with Dan Duszynski in February and March of 2004. "The Silence In Black And White" contains songs of frustration, personal growth and evolution.

Musically, it tests the limitations of the "post-hardcore" and "screamo" music genres, adding deeper and darker subtleties. Influenced by bands that range from Led Zeppelin to Quicksand to Nirvana and Shades Apart, Hawthorne Heights's brand of radiant and fiery post-hardcore is expansive yet more focused than the efforts of other bands they will be categorized with. Their triple guitar attack alone sets them apart from the rest.
"With JT, Casey and Micah all playing guitar, we can add a lot of layering effects and intricacies to our music along with legitimately pulling in different musical styles", said Eron. "To us, 'The Silence In Black And White' is the perfect melting pot of all of our different musical tastes."
