New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ American Museum of Natural History) Now in its fifth season, the American Museum of
Natural History's One Step Beyond party series continues with a DJ set by Prefuse 73 in the
Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, February 17.
During this ongoing party series, guests can dance in the Museum's Rose Center for Earth and Space to the sounds of the biggest names in techno, electronica, hip-hop, and indie rock. Guests can also enjoy the Hayden
Big Bang Theater, located in the lower part of the Hayden Sphere, which features a dynamic multi-media presentation, narrated by acclaimed actor Liam Neeson, that takes visitors on a thrilling four-minute trip from Earth to the edge of the visible universe and back again. Each ticket also includes one pass to the Museum for future use. Visuals for One Step Beyond are produced by Glowing Pictures.

Prefuse 73, aka Guillermo Scott Herren, has remixed TV On The Radio, Pelican, BLK JKS, and Cornelius; produced the L.A. duo "Voices Voices" e.p. on Manimal Records; collaborated with School of
Seven Bells and Battles; and toured internationally. Prefuse 73's album "Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian" features appearances by fellow Savath Y Savalas member Lange (also co-produced), School of
Seven Bells vocalist Claudia Deheza, Zach Hill, Dimitri Grimm, and Gaslamp Killer. He continued with the e.p. "The Forest of Oversensitivity" and the Japanese-only release "Meditations upon Meditations."
The
Rapture DJ's, support
The Rapture's album "Echoes," released in 2003, earned Pitchfork's Album of the Year accolade. "Pieces Of The People We Love" went on to hit the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their most recent album is "The
Grace Of Your Love." They have also recorded many DJ mixes including one for Triple J, Australia's version of
Radio One.
IMPORT/EXPORT, support
Brooklyn-based IMPORT/EXPORT, aka Handshake, has developed wearable sound systems and homemade instruments over the last decade. As IMPORT/EXPORT, he has been hosting moustache parties and the comedy music podcast "The Flopcast" and has DJ'd alongside Michna, Sammy Bananas, Theophilus London, and Willy Joy.

ADMISSION: Admission to One Step Beyond is $25. Guests must be 21 and present valid ID. A beer and wine cash bar is available.
