Anti-Bullying Children's CD Released By Chicago Rock Band And Tour Of NYC Schools During "Respect For All" Week
Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Leonardo Music) Parents' Choice Award winning children's musician Leonardo and his Makin' Waves Band release "No More Bullies", a CD of original rock and roll songs addressing the serious issue of bullying that is affecting schools, families and communities nationwide.

This ten song collection of easy to remember and sing along songs represent the highly interactive concert the band performs for elementary school audiences throughout the country. Recorded in response to educator request, these musical messages support and enhance the daily efforts of youth workers by educating students on what is bullying, types of bullying and offering solutions. School counselors have said the show " is exactly what we are telling the kids..but with music!"

The band will be performing at numerous New York City elementary schools during "Respect for All Week" February 13-17 2012. This past October the band visited New Jersey schools during its "Respect Week" celebrating the passage of strong Anti-Bullying legislation.

The CD, his third release, kicks off with "B True 2 Your School" a rockabilly rave up celebrating unity and pride. An homage to Leonardo's hometown Chicago blues roots, " That's a Bully" is adapted from the song "Messin' with the Kid". Offering a theme of peace, "Makin' Waves" is an anthem inspiring listeners to help others and be a good example."Tell Somebody" is a 70's style funky, call and response tune empowering kids to communicate to others when they witness or are subjected to bullying. "Take a Stand, Lend a Hand" is the U.S Dept. of Health and Human Services official anti-bullying slogan put to a punk beat. The title track " No More Bullies" reminds everyone of the Golden Rule with new lyrics added to the classic "Wooly Bully". The CD ends with the reggae like "Don't Send it" touching on cyber-bullying issues where the listener is reminded to think about the messages they send because "it's hard to mend it, once you send it."

Reflecting on the project, Leonardo states, "It's so gratifying to see young audiences sing and dance along to my music, but I wanted to make sure when the show was over they leave with the tools to deal with the challenges of the real world". Summing up his philosophy, he offers, "If peace is the universal message, then why not help spread it by using the universal language..music"

With Leonardo on electric guitar and vocals, Rafael Zambrano plays the bass and Billy Boscaccy is the drummer. The band's tour schedule, audio/video samples, music purchasing options, and additional information is available at LeonardoMusic.com. Also available on itunes.
