American Rocker Monte Pittman Wins "Best Solo Artist" From 2012 AIMAS
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Grapevine PR) American recording artist and longtime Madonna guitarist Monte Pittman has been honored as "Best Solo Artist" by the 2012 Artists in Music Awards. The ceremony was held Feb. 10 at the Sunset Strip's Key Club in Hollywood, CA.

Pittman also earned the most award nominations of the night, having been recognized in four additional categories, including "Best Rock Artist," "Best Blues Artist," "Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year."

During his acceptance speech, Pittman said "Thank you so much! I haven't won any kind of music award since I was in sixth grade." When prompted to share his experience having recently performed live at the Super Bowl, the humble performer stated, "It's not about singularity. It's about unity."

Pittman also performed live during the awards show, playing two songs off of his current album, Pain, Love & Destiny, entitled "Definitely" and "Close Your Eyes." The album, which was released in October of last year and follows his successful 2009 debut, The Deepest Dark, has become a critical darling, having made it to No. 1 Rock Album and No. 1 Pop Album on CD Baby in its first week. It also cracked iTunes Top 200 chart, a major feat for a truly independent artist.

In addition, Jarrell Guitars recently honored Pittman with his very own MPS Series signature guitar, which debuted at this year's NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA., in January. Pittman will also hit the road this May on Madonna's 2012 World Tour.

He has released two top-selling albums, including his 2009 acoustic debut, "The Deepest Dark," which peaked at No. 1 Best-Selling Acoustic Album and No. 9 Best-Selling Album on CDBaby, and his recently released second album, "Pain, Love & Destiny," which hit No. 1 Pop Album and No. 1 Rock Album, within its first week. The album also broke the Top 200 chart on iTunes. Monte has been Madonna's live guitarist and a co-writer since 2001, has performed as the live guitarist and music director for Adam Lambert, and is a former member of Prong. He is also the No. 1 top-funded rock musician in the history of Kickstarter, having raised a staggering $65,500 from fans to finance "Pain, Love & Destiny." Jarrell Guitars recently released its own signature Monte Pittman guitar to honor the musician.
