NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - Canadian rockers and cult favorites
Sloan were just announced as the second band on Jet's upcoming tour - surely the hottest ticket for any rock show this summer.
Sloan was awarded the prized slot after Jet, who are big fans of the band, personally asked the Sloan boys to join them on the road. Nic Cester, lead singer of Jet, states, "Sloan have been one of my favourite bands for years."
It truly is an "Action Pact" summer for Sloan. Hot on the heels of the new set's May 11th release on KOCH Records and a whirlwind U.S. club tour with power-pop buzz band The Kicks supporting, Sloan are poised for some serious forward thrust now that they have landed the Jet tour.
Sloan - Patrick Pentland, Jay Ferguson, Chris Murphy and Andrew Scott - headed from the cool climates of their native land to sunny Los Angeles to record "Action Pact" with producer Tom Rothrock (Badly Drawn Boy, Elliott Smith). "Action Pact," Sloan's seventh studio album, weds the divergent pop-obsessed and hard rock personalities of Sloan into a blissful 12-song, 39-minute pop rock record.
