NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BNA Records) - "Big Things Expected From Singer/Songwriter" proclaims USA Today of newcomer Rachel Proctor, who is preparing for the release of her debut BNA Records album, "Where I Belong," on August 10. Anticipation for the album is being fueled by the Top 20 (and climbing) single, "Me And Emily," which Rachel co-wrote and is garnering impassioned emails and phone calls from listeners across the country. She'll perform the song on this Friday night's edition of the venerable Grand Ole Opry. Next month, fans can catch Rachel as she hits the road with labelmate/superstar Kenny Chesney, where she will showcase songs from her upcoming album as well as the Martina McBride hit, "Where Would You Be," which she cowrote. She'll perform a 30-minute set in select upcoming cities on the tour, beginning July 11 in Hartford, CT. Rachel was also recently highlighted in a front-page Tennessean story by writer Peter Cooper, who documented a day in the life of her first CMA Music Festival. While writing the piece, Cooper witnessed an exciting late afternoon phone call to Rachel from Uncle Kracker, who asked her to join him onstage at the Coliseum to duet with him that night on his hit "Drift Away." The performance was filmed by CBS for possible inclusion in their CMA Music Festival special airing July 14th. When in town, Rachel continues to write songs and is anticipating moving into a new house in the coming weeks as well. She'll be featured in an upcoming Nashville Scene story on her single, "Me And Emily," and will also appear in a photo shoot in Country Weekly in the coming weeks, as well as in a segment of CMT's new show "CMT Insider" on July 7th. She'll also offer some special children a real treat as she performs some favorite kid tunes during a visit to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in the coming weeks as well.
