Controversial 'Bully' Rating Opposed By Featured Artist Scala & Kolacny Brothers
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) 'Bully,' the controversial new documentary about the teen bullying epidemic, features the "brilliantly haunting" (EW) all-female rock choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers' reinterpretation of Wheatus' "Teenage Dirtbag" during the opening credits. The group opposes the MPAA putting filmmaker Lee Hirsch in a position which forces him to release the film in it's current unrated status, preventing it from being screened at hundreds of theaters throughout the country.

'Bully,' which opened March 30, has drawn attention from a number of celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres, Demi Lovato, and Drew Brees, and politicians including Representatives Charlie Rangel (D-NY) and Dennis Kucinich (D-OH). Hoping to increase the number of young people able to watch the film, high school student Katy Butler started a petition to reduce its R rating to a PG-13 and received more than 475,000 signatures. On March 26, it was announced that the film would be released unrated, a move that deeply saddens Scala & Kolacny Brothers, as they feel the PG-13 rating would allow it to reach its target audience.

"We are so pleased to be involved with this particular film, since it addresses a serious problem not just in the US but worldwide," Steven Kolacny said. "We believe that as many young people as possible should have the opportunity to see 'Bully,' and since many theaters refuse to carry unrated films, a PG-13 rating is the best way for that to happen."

Scala, who has grown into an international phenomenon after their songs played integral parts in trailers for the Emmy-winning smash 'Downton Abbey' and 'The Social Network,' are in the midst of a jam-packed 2012 that also includes a PBS pledge drive special and live dates throughout Europe.
