Top New York Drummer John Favicchia To Visit The Institute
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ ICMP) One of today's top drummers, New York-based John Favicchia, will visit the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance on Tuesday 24 April to give an exclusive masterclass to the students at the Institute's facilities in Kilburn, London.

John is known for his extreme versatility, which enables him to play such diverse gigs as NYC jazz clubs, rock concert halls, international drum festivals and other leading music festivals around the world on a regular basis. And he has performed and/or recorded with such greats as Tony Levin, Lonnie Plaxico, John Benitez, Harvie S, Larry Coryell, Rachel Z, Eddie Money, The Tokens, Kerry Kearney, Chris Geith, Laco Deczi, Mike Pope, Steve Adelson and Bob Malach.

Recently, John has been busy touring and recording with his own band the Dharma All Stars, which incorporates the talents of all-star guests including Steve Khan, Dean Brown, Harvie Swartz, Dave Mann, and Chieli Minucci, His debut solo release, World Time, earned rave reviews and was a Top 10 Critics Pick of the Year in Jazziz Magazine.

John's philosophy is all about playing drums and making music from the mind, or in his words: "…it's all about the soul and the mind.... when the music takes off and I start to wail, I take no prisoners!" His masterclass at the Institute will focus on how drummers can connect musical ideas with technique, and he will additionally perform tracks from his critically acclaimed CDs as well as teaching lessons from his instructional book Elements.

For more details on this masterclass or information about courses at the Institute, contact the Institute directly on:
