Audio Stepchild Releases "Every Coincidence Is Significant" On May 22, 2012
Louisville, KY (Top40 Charts/ John Houston Entertainment) Audio Stepchild is a hip-hop collective from Louisville, Kentucky. They got their professional start in 2001 when signed to Houston, Texas based record label BCD Music Group, a company affiliated with Tony Draper of the legendary Suave House Records. Eleven years have passed from the time Audio Stepchild released their debut album "Land Of The Snake Charmer", an album that featured Prince, Papa Rue and Joe Traxx.

Fast forward to 2012 and their current album "Every Coincidence is Significant" is being released on May 22nd through Hoopla Worldwide and WIDEawake Entertainment (who acquired Death Row Records for $18 Million). This new album introduces a sonically ground-breaking new genre of music they've personally dubbed as "Dust Music" for the listener to experience. Audio Stepchild co-founder Atlas Jenkins said, "We wanted to create something free form and not necessarily constrained by the restrictions of a given genre of music."

The upcoming "Every Coincidence is Significant" album has several features from different members of multi-platinum Nappy Roots, Tha Chill of Compton's Most Wanted, Jayo Felony, Knoc-turn'al, MC Breed, Roc Raida, Sabrina, Michael Barber, Nasim, Staxx N Waxx, Big A LTA and Illuminati Sky. This new studio album from Audio Stepchild has been a decade in the making and was worked on by Grammy Award-winning engineers such as Bruce Swedien, Rodney Mills (Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee), Niko Marzouca (Lauryn Hill), Bryan Jackson and others.

The first single "Sofa Bed" features Buffalo Stille aka B. Stille from Nappy Roots who described his collaboration with Audio Stepchild as "A different side of me that I don't really get to display in Nappy Roots songs. It's a feel-good song and a lot of people are gonna laugh on every line."

Tragically, while filming the video in Nottingham, England for "Sofa Bed", director Retep Srevlihc died on the set. The album's executive producer Jonathan Hay said, "We lost three people during the long and painful process of making this album: MC Breed, Grandmaster Roc Raida and Retep Srevlihc, and all three will be honored with this release." Group representative Michael Bentley told SOHH, "It was a crazy experience. That's my mission, to carry on that legacy."

The animated cover art was created by group member Sabrina and was inspired by a musician's tattoo at Prince's Paisley Park Studio in Minnesota. As she explained to top celebrity media outlet Dr Funkenberry: "It's my interpretation of a design that Jonathan [Hay] described on a musician that played with Prince. Also, it sort of embodies a visual trance similar to what I see when I listen to Prince. Just funky, colorful, and cool. It makes you think." Audio Stepchild has signed on with John Houston Entertainment (Whitney Houston's father's company that also once represented the late superstar) for exclusive management and booking.
