Poptastic Indie Outfit The Strange Familiar Return To NYC On May 22, 2012

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Workman Entertainment & PR) Directly on the heels of their successful full-length debut album release (Krian Music Group) The Strange Familiar will be making their triumphant return to New York City. Kira Leyden (vocals/piano), Jeff Andrea (guitar), Frank Freeman (bass) and Nicholas Sainato (drums) will be hitting the stage at Pianos on May 22 at 7PM. Pianos is located at 158 Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side.

The Strange Familiar's pop infused set will feature songs from the debut album, Chasing Shadows, which has garnered placement on CW's supernatural drama hit show The Vampire Diaries for the track "Redemption" and a mtvU The Freshman win for the lead single video, "Being Me."

The Cleveland Plain Dealer has compared the group's sound to the likes of Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson and The Fray. The Strange Familiar musically ignites inspiration with their ability to write timeless music that connects with their audience on a deep emotional level.

Having already garnered critical songwriting success, The Strange Familiar exploded onto the scene with their Top 10 iTunes hit "Courage Is" (featured as the promo theme on ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager), the Ashlee Simpson's hit song "Invisible" and a slot on America's Got Talent.
