PHOENIX, AZ. (ViaStar Records) - ViaStar Media Corp. announced today that the Company has signed legendary recording artist Peter Murphy to a multi-album Exclusive Artist Agreement.
Mr. Murphy has been recognized as an international icon since he first hit the airwaves over two decades ago as the lead singer of the trendsetting U.K. group Bauhaus, and has continued building on his success with a solo career. Reknown for his live performances, he consistently fills major concert halls worldwide.

ViaStar Records is set to release Peter Murphy's upcoming full-length studio album this fall, which has been recorded in London, Istanbul, Montreal and Phoenix and is currently being mixed in Los Angeles.
Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Murphy has achieved recognition with such top-charting singles as "Cuts You Up" off the highly acclaimed album "Deep," "All Night Long" from "Love Hysteria" and "Scarlet Thing in You" from "Cascade," all of which have established Murphy's rightful place in the hierarchy of music over the past two decades. His accomplishments have paved the way for artists such as Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, and Jane's Addiction, to name a few.

Peter Murphy's new album reunites him with "Deep" composer Paul Statham (Dido, Natalie Imbruglia). The album also features a stellar cast of musicians, including drummers Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction) and Ramy Antoun (Macy Gray, Black Eyed Peas, Seal), with bassists Eric Avery (Jane's Addiction, Alanis Morissette) and Deon Estus (George Michael, Elton John), as well as guitar work by Tim Pierce (Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Joe Cocker, and Bon Jovi) and Peter DiStefano (Porno for Pyros), with programming by Harry Gregson Williams (Hans Zimmer) and Gardner Cole (Madonna, Jody Watley).

Producing the album for ViaStar Records is ViaStar's Senior VP, Gardner Cole. "This new project promises to be one of his most important efforts to date, as it progresses beyond 'Cascade,' 'Deep' and 'Love Hysteria,'" stated Mr. Cole. "This artistic departure for Peter maintains the essence of his sultry vocals, while transcending his earlier styles and introduces his contemporary European influences."

ViaStar expects significant media attention from this new Peter Murphy release. His fan base is already international and deep throughout the music industry, being a favorite among radio programmers, music retail buyers and the media. The artist is about to deliver the album of his career to a dedicated audience. Mr. Murphy is committed to extensive touring and making a long-awaited video for this album, which will give the project even greater electronic media coverage.

Peter Murphy's signing with ViaStar Records is extremely important to the Company's retail partners and the projected revenues for the Company this next fiscal year. The artist's international acclaim and success is expected to translate into visibility for the Company throughout Europe and Asia as ViaStar launches his ninth album though its international distribution channels.

Early promotion and solicitation with ViaStar's retail partners has already resulted in substantial planning for premiere product placement and displays with major music retailers. The marketing campaign for domestic sales will include touring, video promotion and radio support coast to coast. International sales are expected to rival domestic interest as the artist will be supporting the project with key performance dates throughout 2005.
"We are very proud and excited to be a part of this next chapter in Peter's career," stated ViaStar's CEO, John D. Aquilino. "Peter Murphy is a true artist who only improves with each artistic endeavour. The significance of this release for the music industry, our retail partners and ViaStar's shareholders is expected to result in solid sales and substantial media visibility."
