DETROIT, MI (PTHF) - Their true identity remains a mystery. Hidden behind their
Ninja like appearances, as the leading characters of a futuristic story featuring them as the anonymous underdog heroes who provide a safe passage out of the sound slavery of corporate programming.
Detroit Techno stars, SCAN 7 are embarking on a worldwide tour, kicking it off with a headline concert appearance in their home town of Metropolitan Detroit, at the PTHF (Pontiac Techno & House
Music Festival). SCAN 7, lead by founding member, TrackMasta Lou will be performing some of his most hits including the
Detroit anthem, "I AM FROM DETROIT" and "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT" which was recorded live-in-concert, @ DEMF 2000/Underground stage. The recording was later mastered to vinyl, for release, and is now on display at The
Detroit Historic Museum, "Detroit's Gift To the World."
The Detroit appearance comes on the heels of SCAN 7's second annual Detroit Techno and electronic music conference, 'TECHNO BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER'. The groundbreaking event was initiated in 2003 by 'One of 7', SCAN 7 female member and Trackmasta Lou to stregthen the Detroit Techno and electronic community around the world. The appearance also coincides with their latest release entitled, "THE RESULT" EP, which recently flew in and off the shelves of Detroit Metropolitan stores, like Record Time, Pure Detroit, Made in Detroit & Melodies & Memories.
SCAN 7 has released records on the most respected electronic music labels in the world and are regarded internationally by fans and critics alike to be a monumental force & influence in Techno culture. In the late 90's, SCAN 7 started releasing an unrelenting assault of ground breaking, dance floor tracks on 12" vinyl and rare compilations. They delivered two critically acclaimed albums, "Dark Territory" and "Resurfaced" on Tresor Records, Berlin, and more recently, the widely charted and played 12" single, "Final Destiny" on Laurent Garnier's famous F-Communications label. Often described as dark, hard and funky, their sound both defined & captured the spirit of Detroit Techno. With each successive release, SCAN 7 has displayed amazing musical diversity, yet stays firmly rooted in their traditional Detroit Techno style of ultra-unusual soulful rhythms made from hand sculpted sounds. Few groups have created bodies of work as deep and richly Detroit, nor earned the legendary status that SCAN 7 has achieved.
The tour starts in Detroit, on July 11th The Pontiac Tech House Festival and continues throughout the summer, fall and winter, hitting more than 5 countries, including cities in the USA, Spain, and France.
