Japandroids Announce Tiny Free Old Blue Last Show, UK Tour Continues
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Create Spark) "David Prowse's shattering drumming and Brian King's aching arena guitar riffs are the main attraction, but the rampant, raging shouting vocals are a blast." Consequence Of Sound

"['The House That Heaven Built' is] a call-to-action that works beyond its surface-oriented sing-along potential. I dare you to hear this track, the first single from the duo's upcoming album Celebration Rock, and withhold the urge to run a mile, get inked, or engage in some other impulsive affirmation of your own existence. This is a pummeling piece of anthemic guitar rock with thick, noisy chords and heavy-hitting drums that only gain momentum. It's a rapturous head-banger, requiring only one, oft-repeated hook of clearheaded subversiveness: "And if they try to slow you down/ Tell them all, to go to hell." Pitchfork Best New Track

Right in the middle of their rousing UK tour, Japandroids have just announced a last-minute tiny London show at the Old Blue Last. Fans can witness the Vancouver duo's incendiary show within the confines of the miniscule Shoreditch venue on Monday 28th May. Japandroids are headlining as part of This Is Fake DIY's live night, with support from Splashh and Gunning For Tamar. It's free entry on a first come first served basis from doors opening at 8pm, more info is here.

Japandroids' remaining UK/EU tour dates are as follows:
5/25 Leeds, England Cockpit 2
5/26 Nottingham, England Bodega
5/28 London, England This Is Fake DIY @ Old Blue Last
5/29 London, England The Garage SOLD OUT
5/31 Barcelona, Spain Parc del Fòrum (Primavera Sound)
Current single 'The House That Heaven Built' was released last week on 7" via Polyvinyl Record Co complete with a b-side of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds 'Jack The Ripper'.

This is all the precursor to the long awaited follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2009 debut, 'Post-Nothing', 'Celebration Rock'. The new album will be available 4th June in the UK, 5th June in USA on Polyvinyl Record Co.

The blistering 8 track album will be available on CD/LP/Digital. There is also a limited edition of 1,000 on 180-gram red vinyl available for pre-order at: https://polyvinylrecords.com/celebrationrock

Japandroids features Brian King (vocals, guitar) and Dave Prowse (vocals, drums**). King recently talked to Pitchfork about recording the album, which was created in Vancouver at The Hive with engineer Jesse Gander, who they had previously worked with on 'Post-Nothing':

"On a lot of this new record, we actually tried to simulate the sound of what we thought the crowd would do during the songs," says King. "Dave and I were in the studio just screaming out as if we were in the audience at our own show."

'Celebration Rock' track listing:
1 The Nights Of Wine And Roses
2 Fire's Highway
3 Evil's Sway
4 For The Love Of Ivy
5 Adrenaline Nightshift
6 Younger Us
7 The House That Heaven Built
8 Continuous Thunder.
