MILWAUKEE (Miller Brewing Company) - Miller Brewing Company today announced the lineup of rock artists for its 'Rock Through Time' event, the grand finale to Miller's celebration of Rolling Stone's 50 Years of Rock and Roll summer. The exclusive two-day concert event, produced by Clear Channel Entertainment, will take place at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City on
September 17 and 18, and will include some of the biggest and most important artists in rock history, from current giants like Lenny Kravitz,
Velvet Revolver, The
Darkness and The
Strokes to pioneers like
James Brown, Bo Diddley and The
Doors of the 21st Century.
Miller already has made a good deal of noise this summer, touting the 50 Years of Rock and Roll with Rolling Stone commemorative cans for Miller Lite and MGD, as well as huge Napster Music and Fender Guitar giveaways. By assembling a concert lineup that accounts for nearly 100 million combined album sales, 12 albums in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Ever Made, and three of Rolling Stone's top 50 "Immortals," Miller is hoping to add its own chapter to the history of rock.
"Rock and roll is about breaking the mold and doing things like no one else, and that's what we are doing with this event," said Peter Laatz, Miller Brewing Company Manager of Entertainment Marketing. "Miller is all about being better than it has to be and we're delivering on that promise with this once in a lifetime performance."
Miller will give away nearly 1,000 event tickets, along with air and hotel to New York City, to lucky music fans 21 and over across the country.
