DENVER, TX (Shorefire Media) - "The Roots Presents," an HDTV videotaped performance, launched a new concert event series entitled The Sonic Events produced by Fountainhead Entertainment, Inc. - breaking new ground in live music. "The Roots Presents" was recorded at Webster Hall in New York City, with a VIP-invitation-only audience on June 10, 2004. The legendary Roots crew performed some of their classics as well as new cuts from their 'The Tipping Point' CD to be released July 13 from Geffen Records. The blazing set includes The Roots collaborating with up-and-coming artists: The Jazzyfatnastees, Truck North and Mack Dub, as well as hot underground stars like Jean Grae, Skillz, and Martin Luther along with hit makers Young Gunz and special guests Mobb Deep.

The show features The Roots performing tracks from 'The Tipping Point' CD. The full concert airs on Pay-Per-View in October. The event was captured in High Definition and mastered in 5.1 Surround Sound for a DVD and a live companion CD release later this year with exciting extras for Hip-Hop fans worldwide.

The Webster Hall Sonic Event was sponsored by: Virgin Mobile USA, Telex Communications, Inc. (Electro-Voice, Telex, RTS, Dynacord, Midas and Klark Teknik), Geffen Records , and Executive Produced by The Roots, Rich Nichols, Shawn Gee, Fountainhead Entertainment, Inc. and Charles V. Pankey. Robert Swope and Sunrise Entertainment directed and produced the show.
"Our goal was to capture the live performance experience via high definition video by fusing the artist with the audience reaction utilizing state-of-the-art electronics and surrounding them with sound," said Charles Pankey. "There was a visceral reaction to the incredibly clean vocal sounds surrounding the audience. It was loud and crystal clear as if you were inside the music. By using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques we give the television audience a bona-fide live performance experience. You will never forget the quality of this Sonic Event."
