Roots Presents," an HDTV videotaped performance, launched a new concert event series entitled The Sonic Events produced by Fountainhead Entertainment, Inc. - breaking new ground in live music. "The
Roots Presents" was recorded at Webster Hall in New York City, with a VIP-invitation-only audience on June 10, 2004. The legendary
Roots crew performed some of their classics as well as new cuts from their 'The Tipping Point' CD to be released July 13 from Geffen Records. The blazing set includes The
Roots collaborating with up-and-coming artists: The Jazzyfatnastees, Truck North and Mack Dub, as well as hot underground stars like Jean Grae, Skillz, and
Martin Luther along with hit makers
Young Gunz and special guests Mobb Deep.
The show features The Roots performing tracks from 'The Tipping Point' CD. The full concert airs on Pay-Per-View in October. The event was captured in High Definition and mastered in 5.1 Surround Sound for a DVD and a live companion CD release later this year with exciting extras for Hip-Hop fans worldwide.
The Webster Hall Sonic Event was sponsored by: Virgin Mobile USA, Telex Communications, Inc.
