Xander Smith Announces Local And European Tour Dates In August
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ It's Alive! Media!) With nothing but a Gibson J45 acoustic guitar and copies of his new solo record, Hey San Pedro, singer-songwriter Xander Smith (https://xandersmithmusic.com/fr_home.cfm) is heading off to Europe this August on a two week tour this August.

Prior to departure, Xander Smith will hit Genghis Cohen on August 7, 2012 in Los Angeles at 9pm for a BMI showcase. European tour dates below:

Aug 19 Riga, Latvia - Arena Riga
Aug 21 Moscow, Russia - 16 Tons Club
Aug 23 Oslo, Norway - Skuret Konsertscene
Aug 25 Hamburg, Germany - Hasenschaukel
Aug 26 Manchester, UK - The Blue Cat Café
Aug 28 Gothenburg, Sweden - Stearin Music Bar
Aug 31 Ekaterinburg, Russia - New Bar

Currently available for download on iTunes and available physically at Amoeba Music, support for Smith's debut release is building. Hey San Pedro has received airplay locally on KCRW and KCSN, while his solo shows have been packed events. Recent live slots at MTV Movie Awards parties and Buzzbands.LA Presents have garnered quite a following. Smith has been able to 'borrow' accompanying musicians from a diverse number of bands including Tegan and Sara, Foo Fighters, Kesha, Ozomatli and Herb Alpert for his most recent live shows. Additionally, Rickie Lee Jones was seen in the front row at his appearance at Stories Bookstore in Echo Park.

Hey San Pedro is a gentle, pensive indie folk pop record that falls somewhere between Gary Jules, George Harrison and Elliot Smith. Featuring ten original tracks, HSP also includes one cover, a wistful take on Tegan and Sara's "Walking With A Ghost." Smith's songs are reminiscent of his earliest influences like the folksy Big Sur sound of the early 1970s mixed with modern indie folk.
