New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) Atlantic recording artist
Jason Mraz has slated a busy late summer schedule, including high profile TV appearances, a Twitter contest, and the long awaited start of his North American "TOUR IS A FOUR LETTER WORD." The jam-packed itinerary celebrates the international success of the GRAMMY Award-winning tunesmith's latest album, "LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD."
The itinerary gets underway tonight with a performance on TBS' Conan (check local listings). Later this month, Mraz and his band will look forward to performing to another capacity crowd at the "Toyota Concert Series" on NBC's TODAY, slated to air live from New York City's
Rockefeller Plaza on Friday, August 31st. That appearance will be followed by a Tuesday,
September 4th visit to NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The upcoming live performances follow recent high profile live appearances on CBS's Late Show with
David Letterman, E!'s Opening Act & Chelsea Lately, NBC's TODAY, Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, PBS' Tavis Smiley, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, two episodes of the nationally syndicated
Ellen DeGeneres Show, and his own acclaimed installment of VH1 Storytellers.
Mraz's hugely anticipated "TOUR IS A FOUR LETTER WORD" gets underway on August 9th at New Orleans' Lakefront Arena, with dates continuing through early October (see itinerary below). Accompanying Mraz and his band for all dates will be his Atlantic Records labelmate
Christina Perri. Mraz will partner with the non-profit group Reverb on the tour (www.reverb.org) to make the tour more earth-friendly and engage fans to take action toward a more sustainable future. For more details, visit www.TreeIsAFourLetterWord.org.
A truly global trek, "TOUR IS A FOUR LETTER WORD" has already swept across Asia, including sold out stops in Busan, Seoul, Shanghai, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei and the inaugural show at Singapore's Gardens By The Bay. While in Hong Kong, Mraz held a special performance to celebrate the launch of the iTunes Store in Southeast Asia territories, a momentous event. A link to the performance can be found at https://facebook.itunes.com/0Un. Furthermore, Mraz recently performed at Japan's "AP Bank Festival," the proceeds from which were donated to aid in Japan tsunami and Fukushima relief efforts as well as other related causes. AP Bank is a non-profit organization that provides lending for renewable energy and a variety of other environmental projects https://www.apbank.jp/en/whats.html.
Upon the conclusion of the North American leg, Mraz and his band will head to
Europe for a series of stops that include France, Germany, and the famed O2
Arena in London. For complete details and up-to-the-minute ticket information, please see https://jasonmraz.com/tour.
"LOVE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD" made a spectacular chart debut upon its release earlier this year, entering the SoundScan/Billboard 200 at #2, with first week sales in excess of 325,000 worldwide. What's more, "I Won't Give Up," the album's blockbuster hit single, has already proven one of Mraz's most popular, surpassing 2 million in sales in the U.S. and nearing 3 million worldwide.
Mraz recently launched an unprecedented contest inviting Twitter users to help conceptualize an official music video for his song, "The Woman I Love." Fans can submit -- in 140 characters or less -- their vision for the video, the best of which will be featured in the new clip. Users whose ideas were used in the video will then have their Twitter handles credited at the end of "The Woman I Love." Launched earlier this week, the contest already has thousands of entries.
