Skrillex, Martin Solveig, And Duck Sauce All Receive First-ever "Best Electronic Dance Music Video" Nods
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) A titanic trio of Big Beat recording artists are among the top nominees for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards nominations. The renowned electronic/dance music label dominated the newly minted "Best Electronic Dance Music Video" category, earning three of the five total nominations.

Triple Grammy Award-winner Skrillex received two nods for his haunting "First of the Year (Equinox)," including "Best Electronic Dance Music Video" and "Best Visual Effects" (Visual Effects by Deka Bros & Tony T. Datis).

"Big Bad Wolf," the provocative single/video from Duck Sauce, also received a pair of nominations: "Best Electronic Dance Music Video" and "Best Direction" (Directed by Keith Schofield).

Finally, superstar DJ/Producer Martin Solveig was also among the "Best Electronic Dance Music Video" nominees, honoring his transporting "The Night Out" companion video clip; a favored track of his forthcoming fifth studio album, "SMASH" to be released later this summer on Big Beat.

Fans can vote now at www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/best-electronic-dance-music-video/. The 2012 MTV Music Awards will be presented live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6th at 8:00 pm/7:00c (check local listings).

Big Beat Records is a label originally founded in 1987 by 22-year-old New York DJ Craig Kallman, where the original house sounds of the label were influenced by the city's all-encompassing hip hop scene. Now this legendary imprint has re-launched with electronically leaning acts of all shapes and sizes, including Skrillex, Icona Pop, Chuckie, Teddybears, Chromeo, Martin Solveig, Flux Pavilion & Doctor P.
