New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) A titanic trio of Big Beat recording artists are among the top nominees for the 2012 MTV Video
Music Awards nominations. The renowned electronic/dance music label dominated the newly minted "Best Electronic Dance
Music Video" category, earning three of the five total nominations.
Triple Grammy Award-winner
Skrillex received two nods for his haunting "First of the Year (Equinox)," including "Best Electronic Dance
Music Video" and "Best Visual Effects" (Visual Effects by Deka Bros & Tony T. Datis).
"Big Bad Wolf," the provocative single/video from Duck Sauce, also received a pair of nominations: "Best Electronic Dance
Music Video" and "Best Direction" (Directed by Keith Schofield).
Finally, superstar DJ/Producer
Martin Solveig was also among the "Best Electronic Dance
Music Video" nominees, honoring his transporting "
The Night Out" companion video clip; a favored track of his forthcoming fifth studio album, "SMASH" to be released later this summer on Big Beat.
