Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Artistic Integrity Records) On August 8, 2012, An Aesthetic Anaesthetic will release their second full-length record, NAMES. It will be available on vinyl via Chicago's Artistic Integrity Records and digitally though An Aesthetic Anaesthetic's Bandcamp website.
An Aesthetic Anaesthetic (A!A!A) is a 4-piece instrumental rock band that takes the best parts of punk, metal, math rock, prog, and post-rock to create their own genre, which has been called
Ghost Rock.
NAMES was recorded in March 2012 by Sanford Parker at Engine Studios. NAMES will be darker than previous efforts and the goal in recording with Sanford Parker was "to harness the raw energy of their live show."
The climactic 17 minute B-side track, "Randy Quaidludes," features guest vocals by Dylan O'Toole, lead singer of
Chicago metal band Indian (Relapse Records). The four songs on NAMES were honed over six months and tested live at shows with such notable bands as BATTLES, The Dear Hunter, and mr. Gnome. Vinyl mastering was done by Dave Eck at Lucky Lacquers and digital mastering was handled by Collin Jordan at the Boiler Room. The album cover and jacket features original art by Robert Donis.
A!A!A will be on tour in support of NAMES from August 10 - 21. The tour kicks off in Grand Rapids, MI, heads west, and ends with a hometown album release show at Schuba's Tavern in Chicago, featuring the bands The Bulletproof Tiger, Ormen Lange, and Harps of Tartarus. Schuba's is located at 3159 N. Southport Ave in Chicago.
Doors for the 18+ show will begin at 7 p.m. and tickets are available for $10 at the door or on Schubas' website.
