Kansas City, Mo August 6th 2012- The Blue Room, one of Down Beat Magazine's top ranked jazz clubs, has another week of great performances lined up.

The Blue Monday Jam on the 6th will be hosted by Gerald Dunn and his group the Jazz Disciples. Dunn is the Director of Entertainment here at the museum and a talented saxophone player. So come jam with the "King of the Blue Room."

Thursday August 9th will feature a Blue Room favorite, Shades of Jade. Shades of Jade is a "Neo-Soul Quartet" that is comprised of jazz musicians. Traditional jazz meets R&B whenever they perform.

Friday August 10th will feature the Charles Williams Quartert. Williams has played the piano for over 40 years and specializes in gospel, jazz and R&B.

The weekend closes Saturday August 11th with Brad Leali in a special feature show. Leali is one of the most gifted alto saxophone players of his generation.He has been a member of the Count Basie Orchestra and is a former Musical Director for the Harry Connick Jr. Orchestra.

The mission of the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City is to celebrate and exhibit the experience of jazz as an original American art form through Performance, Education, Exhibition and Research.
