Vinyl Legacy to Release Classic Audio Content on High Quality, Limited Edition, Full Color Picture Discs
Philadelphia (Top40 Charts / Vinyl Legacy LLC) Vinyl Legacy, a new record company devoted to limited edition vinyl and picture discs has been launched by industry veteran Denny Somach and online entertainment marketer Theodore Somach.

The debut release will be Larry Kane's Ticket to Ride, a collection of exclusive interviews with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. As the only broadcast journalist to travel to every stop on the Beatles' 1964 and 1965 tours, Kane authored Ticket to Ride in 2003 (Foreword by Dick Clark) and Lennon Revealed, a New York Times Bestseller in 2005.

There has been resurgence in vinyl record sales. According to Nielson SoundScan, 2011 vinyl album sales reached 3.9 million, shattering the previous record of 2.8 million LP album sales in 2010.

"Vinyl is a bit of history and nostalgia," said Somach. "I grew up with the ritual of taking an album out of its sleeve and placing it on the turntable, while my son has grown up with downloads." According to Theodore Somach, "vinyl albums are not only a great audio medium, but collectors view it as a visual medium and a work of art that you can play and display in your home or office."

Vinyl Legacy is based in Philadelphia and North American distribution will be handled by Music Video Distributors (MVD). The company is currently in the process of finalizing International release plans.

Denny Somach is a thirty plus year music industry veteran. His radio/tv production company (DSP) has been a major supplier of syndicated and network radio programming. His shows include programs for NBC, ABC, CBS, Westwood One, Premiere, United Stations, Rolling Stone Magazine and others. Past productions include "Legends of Rock," "Scott Muni's Ticket to Ride," "Live from the Hard Rock Café" and the "Psychedelic Psnack." The company currently produces "Carol Miller's Get the Led Out" which airs on over 75 stations.

He is also the executive producer of albums by Dave Mason, Johnny Winter, Patrick Moraz and Pete Bardens. In 1992, Somach's Cinema Records (distributed by Capitol) released Eric Johnson's aural masterpiece, Ah Via Musicom. The album was certified 'platinum' and contained the Grammy Award winner, "Cliffs of Dover."

Theodore Somach founded his own music merchandising and marketing business and was formerly a store manager at Tower Records in Boston.

Vinyl Legacy will concentrate on classic and newly recorded product and is available at most retail outlets and on line at Amazon.com and other destinations. The second release will be from the Yardbirds. For more information the company can be reached at 610-446-7100 and [email protected]
