NEW YORK (https://mindthirst.iuma.com) - Mindthirst is a Brooklyn based black alternative indie rock band featuring: D. Lammie-Hanson, vocals; Kenneth Pesantes, lead guitar; George Chang, bass; Curlan Moore, drums; and Cal Payne, saxophone. Mindthirst's major influences are John Fusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, PJ Harvey, with a touch of Bjork, Kate Bush.

Alternative Rock has a new alternative presence and a new face. MINDTHIRST has a Black Female Lead Vocals, Lammie; an Ecuadorian Jewish Lead Guitarist, Ken; and a Chinese/Black Bassist, George with a double kicking dummer,Curlan and the coolest Sax player, Cal. This combination has given an edge to the music that they've composed which is quite powerful and rich with lyrics that are so inspirational and sometimes haunting in their original songs such as "Former Ties" and "Child of War".

In May 2004 at the SONYA JAMfest in Brooklyn, NY, MINDTHIRST headlined the festival of 5 original bands with such a powerful performance that their fans couldn't stop screaming "Encore!!! Encore!!!". In addition, MINDTHIRST had the crowd on their feet when they seeminglessly slipped into the cover song "The Metro" with their ultra funk-butt beat.
MINDTHIRT will perform live at Continental (25 Third Ave b/t 9th Street and St. Marks Pl., NYC) at 9:30pm on Wednesday, August 4th.
