NEW YORK (Village Voice press release) - On Saturday, July 17, 2004 the Village Voice 4th Annual
Siren Music Festival at Coney Island secured its status as the premier outdoor indie rock festival by drawing more than 150,000 music fans to the annual free event with its stellar lineup.
Performing before record crowds totaling more than 150,000 throughout the day, Death Cab For Cutie, Blonde Redhead, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Mission Of Burma, Har Mar Superstar, TV On The Radio, Electric Six, The Fiery Furnaces, The Fever, Constantines, Vue, The Thermals, The Ponys, Your Enemies Friends and DJs Tommie Sunshine, Kento of IQU, Boozy Jo, Bag Lady and The Dustcommander drew fans from all over the country to the two outdoor stages located on West 10th Street and Stillwell Avenue in historic Coney Island.
The Village Voice 4th Annual SIREN MUSIC FESTIVAL was sponsored by Budweiser, Garnier Fructis, LG Mobile Phones, Astroland Amusement Park, TriBeCa Grand Hotel and Bacardi. Media partners included Citysearch, GoCard, Compucolor, KEXP (Seattle), Filter and SPIN.
This successful fourth year event was covered to date by USA Today, The New York Times, The New York Post, Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, Filter, Jane, Newsday, The New York Sun, The New Yorker, Time Out New York, Pollstar, Tripwire, The Onion, gawker.com and MTV.com.
