New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Missing Piece Group) On Oct. 2, acclaimed artist and award-winning producer Charlie Peacock will release No Man’s Land, a gorgeous collection of twelve original compositions inspired by his family’s roots in Louisiana and Oklahoma. He will kick off his US tour on that date with a performance at 3rd and Lindsley in his hometown of Nashville, TN.
In Nashville, Peacock will be joined by his recording band, which features Jerry McPherson (guitar), Mark Hill (bass), Steve Brewster (drums and percussion), bluegrass phenom Andy Leftwich (mandolin) and legendary pedal steel player Bruce Bouton. Joining Peacock on the road are Sam Ashworth (banjo, percussion, acoustic guitar) and James Sweeting (keyboards, percussion, guitar), with special guests along the tour including saxophonist Jeff Coffin (the Dave Matthews Band), singer Ruby Amanfu (Jack White, Sam & Ruby), banjoist/mandolinist Matt Menefee and Zach Williams and the Bellow.
Peacock’s family origins in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma provided the spark for this inventive recording. Peacock’s paternal family, the Ashworths, hail from the western Louisiana territory known as "No Man’s Land," and his mother’s people are "Okies that came to California for a new life," as Peacock succinctly sums it up. The album is Peacock’s way to "capture something of the sound of my grandparents’ America - especially Louisiana and Oklahoma - Cajun two-steps, ruckus, and dust, lots of dust."
The video for Peacock’s single "Death Trap" debuted on CMT.com last week. Watch it here:
Peacock is offering an exclusive sampler of rarities via Noisetrade: the collection includes "Beauty Left the Room" and "Mystic" from No Man’s Land; exclusive acoustic versions of "Big River," "In The Light," and "Big Man’s Hat;" and four jazz instrumentals from previous recordings.

He is the producer behind the Grammy-winning breakout The Civil Wars, and the duo’s critically adored Barton Hollow, and has produced hits for such artists as Amy Grant and Switchfoot. Already in 2012, he has worked with Jackson Browne, Alison Krauss, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ricky Skaggs and Holly Williams.
