New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Gary Barlow may be in the throes of a major comeback with his
Take That bandmates, but the pop crooner hasn't abandoned his independent ambitions. Following a blazing performance at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony, Barlow announced plans for a solo tour of the UK and Ireland spanning autumn and winter of 2012. Fan fervour accompanied the initial ticket release - so much so that Barlow added eight additional dates for January 2013 to meet the surge in audience demand. His extended schedule includes stops in Liverpool, Cardiff and Dublin, among other cities. Tickets for these dates went on sale on the morning of Friday, 23 November.
A certifiable pop music icon, Barlow has stayed in the public eye as a result of reuniting with the band that made him famous, assuming judging duties on The X Factor and his continued creative efforts. "Playing live is my favourite thing," Barlow said via his Official Website, underlining his excitement for the ongoing and forthcoming concert dates. "Well enthused about hitting the road once again, Barlow also stated, "Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought right let's get out and see the rest of the country."
The talented charmer has had quite the year, with landmark events including being furnished with an OBE by
Queen Elizabeth II in June to the aforementioned Olympics performance, and now a spectacular solo tour.
