New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Last night, Bonnie Raitt upped her lifetime Grammy total into double digits, earning the Best Americana Album trophy for 'Slipstream' (Redwing), beating out heavy competition from The Lumineers, The Avett Brothers, John Fullbright, and Mumford & Sons (who went on to win Album of the Year).
'Slipstream' was the debut release on Raitt's own Indie label, Redwing Records.
"I'm delighted and so proud," said Raitt of the win: https://www.grammy.com/videos/bonnie-raitt-at-thank-you-cam
A 25-time nominee, Raitt has now taken home ten Grammys in nine different categories. The Best Americana Album award was her first album category win since her nod for Best Pop Vocal Album for 1994's 'Longing in Their Hearts'.
Raitt also took home The Album of Year Grammy in 1990 for 'Nick of Time.'
