LOS ANGELES (Interscope Records) - Sailing on the success of their chart-topping debut album, "Hopes and Fears," British rock trio Keane hits the shores of America this fall, taking their piano-driven sound to cities across the U.S. "Hopes and Fears" has just been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, the UK's most prestigious album award. Not surprisingly, Keane is also making waves in America. The video for outsider anthem and first single "Somewhere Only We Know" has been voted onto the air in MTV's "viewers pick" competition. The guitar-free group is also profiled in Rolling Stone's "New Faces" section (those faces belonging to singer Tom Chaplin, pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, and drummer Richard Hughes). Since releasing the EP "Everybody's Changing" on independent label Fierce Panda in 2003, Keane has attracted attention for their powerful and clutter-free sound. At the fore is Chaplin's impressive voice, which Time Out calls "a soaring, coruscating shiver-inducer" and The London Sunday Times describes as "a beguiling blend of Harry Nilsson, Eric Carmen, Chris Martin and Fran Healy." Keane will leave a wake of satisfied music lovers in the following North American cities: 6-Sept - Vancouver, CAN - Richards on Richards 7-Sept - Seattle - Showbox 8-Sept - Portland - Berbatis Pan 10-Sept - San Francisco - Bimbo's 365 Club 11-Sept - Los Angeles - Avalon 12-Sept - San Diego - Brick by Brick 14-Sept - Denver - Gothic Theatre 15-Sept - Lawrence, KS - Granada Theatre 17-Sept - Minneapolis - The Quest 18-Sept - Milwaukee - Rave Bar 19-Sept - Chicago - Park West 21-Sept - Toronto - The Guvernment 22-Sept - Columbus, OH - Newport Music Hall 25-Sept - Mexico City - Salon 21 27-Sept - Philadelphia - Theatre of Living Arts 28-Sept - Washington, D.C. - 9:30 Club 29-Sept - New York - Irving Plaza 1-Oct - Montreal - Le Spectrum 2-Oct - Boston - Avalon
