BURBANK, CA (Warner Bros. Records) -
R.E.M. will launch an extensive fall concert tour performing nearly 30 North American cities to coincide with the release of "Around The Sun," the group's first new studio album in three years. The tour will kick off Oct. 13th in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre.
Additionally, R.E.M. will co-headline a string of concerts as part of the upcoming Vote For Change tour, in support of the organization America Coming Together. R.E.M. joins such Vote For Change participants as Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, Dixie Chicks, James Taylor and many others as part of this historic political mobilization through music.
The group's Vote For Change itinerary, highlighting appearances with Bruce Springsteen and the E St. Band, John Fogerty and Bright Eyes, includes stops in Philadelphia (10/1st), Cleveland (10/2nd), Ann Arbor (10/3rd), St. Paul (Oct.5th) and Orlando, (10/8th).
