New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Los Angeles' Superhumanoids--a band Paste Magazine says "you should listen to now"--will release their debut album 'Exhibitionists' on Innovative Leisure, June 11th. Produced by the band and mixed by Ariel Rechtshaid (No Doubt, Usher, Cass McCombs, Vampire Weekend) and Doug Boehm (GIRLS, Guided By Voices) the album represents the California trio's version of shoegaze: "dreamy layers of fuzz, synths and echoing pop vocals" (LA Record) with subtle R&B undertones.
Following up two "exceedingly charming" (CMJ) EPs that earned them an invite to perform on Last Call with Carson Daly, an exclusive Basement Session for All Saints, and supporting tour dates with
Local Natives and
Cold War Kids among others, 'Exhibitionsts' is--as the band describes it--"the soundtrack to the last moments of dusk in LA". Billboard calls it "shimmering new wave with sharp-elbowed observations about doubt, love, and longing."
Superhumanoids will kick off a 27-city U.S. tour with two shows at SXSW 2013, demonstrating the "haunting" (Foam) and "beautiful" (CMJ) sound that has helped them gain a steadfast fan-base across the U.S. and Europe. The band-- Cameron Parkins,
Sarah Chernoff, and Max St. John--will also preview songs from 'Exhibitionists' at a headlining NYC show on April 2nd at Mercury Lounge.
