NEW YORK (Dry Kill Logic Official Website announcement) - Three years after the release of their punishing disc "The Darker Side of Nonsense," Dry Kill Logic (formerly known as Hinge) are back with a new album and a new approach. "The Dead and Dreaming," the band's most cohesive and dynamic offering to date, is set to be unleashed October 5 on Psychodrama Records through Repossession.
A follow-up to the highly acclaimed "Darker Side," which topped 100,000 in sales and which Amazon called 'genuinely unhinged,' 'wild-eyed' and 'bolt-tight,' the new album combines the ferocity of thrash and death metal with the lyrical relevance of punk and smatterings of melodic classic rock. The band continues to feature incendiary frontman Cliff Rigano and drummer Phil Arcuri plus new guitarist Jason Bozzi (ex-Gargantua Soul) and bassist Danny Horboychuk (ex-Down for Low). Arcuri and Bozzi penned most of the visceral music for "The Dead and Dreaming" while Rigano wrote the poignant lyrics.

Dry Kill Logic play with the intensity of a salvo of cluster bombs in the studio, and they're equally explosive onstage, as they've proven on stints with Fear Factory, Kittie and others. On September 22, they will return to the road with Nonpoint and Skindred to support the new album.

Among the album's new tracks, 'Lost' is a whirlwind of pummeling rhythms and squalling guitar riffs while the first single 'Paper Tiger' is an evocative number that contrasts verses of bruising metal with choruses awash in textural guitars and soaring vocals. An equally evocative video for this track, directed by Dale Restighini (Shadows Fall, Fear Factory) was just completed.
'We really wanted to write an album that had songs people could connect with, and not stuff that sounds like everything else,' Rigano says. 'The music that makes the most impact on people is what they can hear the sincerity and the heart in.'

Dry Kill Logic started writing "The Dead and Dreaming" while on tour in 2002, and finished the writing process at their home studio. They entered Millbrook Sound to record with producers Eddie Wohl and Rob Caggiano, and finished the CD at the Scrap 60 Studios in New York City.

Dry Kill Logic also takes a new approach with this release, one which melds their previous label experience with the DIY ethos they have always embraced. On the heels of two self-released albums - 1998's Cause Moshing is Good Fun! and 1999's Elemental Evil - on their own label Psychodrama, and "The Darker Side of Nonsense," released on Roadrunner in 2001, the band has chosen to return to their own label, enabling it to once again call its own shots and do it their way. They entered into a unique partnership with Repossession Records, the new enterprise founded by former MCA label executive Gary Ashley, who is responsible for the success of acts such as Garbage & Blink 182 as well as the highly acclaimed merger of punk label, Drive-Thru Records with MCA.

In conjunction with DKL's label Psychodrama, Repossession will release the disc and allow the band greater control over the business, financial and creative aspects of their career. Benefits so far include the ability to get their music in video games, TV and soundtracks without getting caught up in traditional red tape - Dry Kill Logic's riffs have been heard in games by Eidos, Midway and Activision, as well as in the 'Viva La Bam' and releases from Frontier Films, Fleshwound Films, H-Bomb Films and many others.
"It's important to just take control of your life and not allow anyone to force you into compromising your integrity," Rigano concludes. "For me, this record is really about overcoming adversity and taking back control. I can't say the last two-and-a-half years in this band have been easy. But we've learned a lot from what we've been through, and we're still around and I think there's a great story in that.'
