Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Missing Piece Group) Fresh off of their eight appearances at the SXSW 2013
Music Festival in Austin, TX, where they were ranked #3 on Examiner's 'Top Five Bands Not To Miss', Blue Sky Riders are excited to announce their upcoming tour through Oregon and California. Billboard says, "Blue Sky Riders had a generation-spanning field of fans at Stubb's dancing and singing along…as joyous a scene as you were likely to find in Austin…that speaks to what's made [Rachael] Ray's party…one of SXSW's best and most anticipated events."
The band continues to tour in support of the debut album, Finally Home, released by 3Dream Records, the band's own, self-started independent record label. The dynamic trio has received rave reviews of the album since its release on January 29th, 2013, and the group is thrilled to share their music with new audiences starting in Bend, OR on April 18th.
Blue Sky Riders will play the Tower Theatre in Bend, OR on April 18th, followed by six shows in California, with a performance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on April 24th. Pappy & Harriet's, who have played host to the likes of Roy Rogers & Gene Autry, will be welcoming Blue Sky Riders on April 27th in Pioneertown, CA. Finally, the band will finish out their dates at The Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA on April 28th.
In January, Blue Sky Riders performed two dates at the famed Sundance Festival and at the kickoff event of U.S. Senator Al Franken's re-election campaign in Washington, DC. They also performed on the
Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
A veritable who's who of music royalty, the group counts the iconic Kenny Loggins, Nashville songwriter Georgia Middleman (who has penned songs for Keith Urban, Faith Hill,
Kenny Chesney &
Reba McEntire amongst others) and award-winning songwriter Gary Burr (Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame, written 13 #1 hits and has penned songs for Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Ricky
Martin and
Christina Aguilera,
Kelly Clarkson and played and written with Ringo Starr and Carole King) within its ranks.
The creative spark that ignited Blue Sky Riders was struck when Loggins and Burr began working on songs together. Their chemistry inspired them both to "get back on the horse" and start a new band. Loggins welcomed the challenge but wanted to add a third female voice. Burr, whose accolades include being named "Songwriter of the Year" by ASCAP, Billboard and NSAI, suggested Middleman. She quickly accepted their invitation and Blue Sky Riders were born.
Their debut album Finally Home follows up the 2011 fan favorite EP, Live At The Rutledge, which introduced the world to their exceptional collaborative songwriting and unique sound. Driven by three-part harmonies and sincere, soulful delivery, each of these veterans sings lead as well, separating Blue Sky Riders from not only anything they've respectively done, but anything else out there. Over the course of the record, the trio merges rock, pop, and country into an irresistible collection of 15 songs.
