Music Vol. 1: The Initiation." The 14 track project is presented by Coast 2 Coast Mixtape Promotion and hosted by legendary DJ Ron G. The mixtape features 100 PERCENT with appearances by Griddy, and B. Perry.
Christopher David Smith aka 100 PERCENT hails from the Bronx. He developed a passion for hip-hop that is provoked by the atrocities of inner city life and the effects of growing up in a single parent household. As a young child, he struggled to find his true identity in an environment that for most kids his age, demanded assimilation to a negative stereotype. At 10 years old, 100 PERCENT escaped the temptation of the streets by spending hours listening to songs by rap legends RAKIM, KRS ONE, and L.L. COOL J. Influenced by these pioneers of hip-hop, he discovered his ability to articulate his life through his words. As his love for rap music grew, so did his desire to become a rap superstar.
In 2011, 100 PERCENT was featured on the DJ Envy's mixtape "Audio Uprising Vol.1" where he debuted his original single "Making History." His performance at the listening party not only fueled his passion, but solidified him as one of the hottest up and upcoming artists to keep an eye on. Deciding to take his career to another level,100 PERCENT began taking his career more seriously.
100 PERCENT signed a management deal with Brillionaire Entertainment Group (B.E.G). The entertainment company focused on film, theatre, and television, has recently extended its reach nto the music industry by providing artist management services. Since signing with B.E.G., 100 PERCENT has landed an appearance in the first of four national commercials for The Hip Hop Head Foundation. In an effort to decrease the drop-out rate in America, the (501c3) organization has joined forces with the hip-hop community to help influence children across the country to stay in school and reach greater levels of academic success. Their "DO SCHOOL!" campaign is scheduled to begin
September 2013. 100 PERCENT is the first of many hip-hop artists, DJs and producers who will appear in the campaign in support of the foundation's efforts. He has also been selected to pen the organizations theme song, "I Am A Hip Hop head."
100 PERCENT aims to destroy all competition with his slick lyrical, street style. He is currently in the studio, finishing up a new EP titled, "Welcome to Club 100," and putting the final touches on his highly anticipated album. 100 PERCENT is preparing to hit the road in promotion of his recently released project and promises the fan an explosive, high energy show.
