Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ BNW Global) After his initial debut at the world famous Whisky A Go Go (8901 W Sunset Blvd) in Hollywood, CA, Shyan Selah & The Republic of Sound are returning by popular demand Friday, May 10th, 2013 for an encore performance. Inspired by the likes of Nirvana, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, BB King and James Brown, Selah has created wide-spread acclaim for his enthralling live performances, distinctively raw vocal tone and vivid songwriting - all of which left the managers who run one of the most prominent live performance venues in Los Angeles asking for his return.
Having opened its doors in 1964, The World Famous Whisky A Go Go has hosted the biggest names in music including The Doors, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, and B.B. King.
"I have always considered it an honor and blessing to perform for a living regardless of where it's at but there's something special about this one," says Selah. "The reputation, the legendary musicians that have played that room says it all. There's a handful of places in the world I absolutely wanted to play throughout my career and the Whisky is one of them. It's right there with The Apollo Theater and The Fillmore."
Now Selah returns to Los Angeles with his unique mix of rock and soul music that is currently driving his new single, "PINK BUTTERFLY," up the DRT Charts. From its debut last month in the top 100 singles nationwide at #84, the song has jumped to #32 this week with no signs of slowing down. Likewise, for the last nine weeks straight, Selah has maintained top tier placement of charting independent artists throughout the country currently residing at #11 out of the top 50.
Kelly Kalichman, CEO/President of the entertainment business development firm, KuKaZi, who attended Selah's last performance at the Whisky with co-founder Adam Lewis of the world-renowned artist development and radio promotion firm, The Planetary Group, has been one of the first insiders in the professional music scene to jump on why Selah has been invited back to the legendary Whisky stage:
"One of the most soulful, moving, genuinely authentic, and rockinEST sets I've witnessed in a long timeā¦Selah and the Republic of Sound threw me in the best way," says Kalichman.
