LOS ANGELES (Aezra Records) - Singer-songwriter and Aezra/EMI recording artist John Price has just been added to the bill as opening act for The Samples' coast-to-coast tour this summer, introducing the emerging Texas-based talent to a simpatico legion of fans nationwide.
Folk/roots-rock jam band The Samples are perennial favorites on the concert scene, and Price's authentic and powerful performance style should prove the perfect fit for their loyal and enthusiastic audiences.
Currently, the itinerary kicks off August 30 in Rochester, New York, and after a high-profile 4-date sweep up the California coast, wraps on September 18 at Seattle, WA's Crocodile Cafe.

An acclaimed figure in the Dallas-Fort Worth area's thriving music scene, John Price's debut album, Questionably Red, is set for an August 24th release on Aezra/EMI Records. The disc's title track and lead single, a psychedelic, Beatles-flavored standout, is currently going for adds at AAA radio.
The balance of the 11-song debut spotlights Price's refreshing musical iconoclasm, with tracks veering from stripped-down, introspective acoustic numbers-like the cinematic, meditative Ry Cooder-ish "Coat In The Car" - to full-tilt, extroverted rockers, "Gone And Over" among them.
Other tracks, including the album opener "Evaporation," and its closer, "Jacosta," find their own niche in the sonic spectrum, drenched with harmony, and driven by Price's compelling lyrics and soulful lead vocals.

Price honed his skills during his college years in Fort Worth, fronting the alt-country/modern rock-skewed John Price Band. Both as headliners and opening for acts including Old 97s and Fabulous Thunderbirds, they built a substantial following. As a solo artist, John has diversified his repertoire and added resonance to his expressive vocals-his high-powered set at Aezra's SXSW label showcase in Austin last March rattled the rafters, and his sets touring with The Samples are destined to do the same.
Distributed by EMI, Aezra Records was founded in 1999. The company is located at 14040 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022-6117. Their telephone number is (602) 482-6518, and they can be found on the worldwide web at https://www.aezra.com.
