MIAMI, FL. (Latin Recording Academy/ EMI Latin America) - The Latin Recording Academy today announced that it has teamed up with EMI Music's Latin America division to release an impressive 2004 Latin GRAMMY Nominees CD, in stores Aug. 24. This release comes packed with nominated songs and artists from major 5th Latin GRAMMY Awards categories, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit educational programs of the Latin Recording Academy.

Each of the 19 tracks on the collection represents Latin GRAMMY-nominated music from artists who have made an impact over the year, including nominees in the categories of Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Male Pop Vocal Album, Best Urban Music Album and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The album will be released simultaneously in Spain, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and the United States.
"This Latin GRAMMY Nominees compilation showcases many of the great songs and artists that make up this year's eclectic and diverse group of nominees - it will surely become a keepsake of this outstanding year of music," said Latin Recording Academy President Gabriel Abaroa. "Our thanks go to EMI Latin America for their partnership and collaboration on this project which not only underscores the excellence in musical talent we honor this year, but will also provide much needed support for the important work our Academy does year-round."

The 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards telecast will take place on Sept. 1 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS from 8 - 10 p.m. (ET/PT). It will be distributed internationally to more than 100 countries and will be supported on radio via Univision Radio and Westwood One International. Nominations for the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards were announced July 14 and a complete list of nominees is available online at GRAMMY.com and www.latingrammy.terra.com (the official online partner of the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards).
