NEW YORK (Curb Records) - KIMBERLEY LOCKE is back with her second smash single - "WRONG" - off her Curb Records debut ONE LOVE, currently No 39 on the Billboard BDS chart - and rising. "Wrong," a catchy anthem with lyrics reminiscent of the
Gloria Gaynor classic "I Will Survive," relays a message of inner strength and self-empowerment, which is quickly being received by radio and fans alike.
The
Radio & Records CHR chart has "
Wrong" at No 35 with 1,374 spins reaching an estimated audience of 6.2 million.
"
Wrong" quickly became one of the most added single at radio upon its release.
Music industry buzz followed, with industry bible Billboard stating: "Opening with fierce guitars, the choral stance lets listeners know that Locke is nobody's reality-TV prisoner." With "Wrong," Locke becomes only the second "American Idol" contestant to chart more than one hit at Top 40 radio along with
Kelly Clarkson.
The "
Wrong" video, directed by Urban Strom (Mary J. Blige, LeAnn Rimes) was shot on location in London and will be serviced to video outlets this week.
KIMBERLEY LOCKE's first single "8th World Wonder," debuted at No 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Single Sales chart, making it the biggest-selling single last March upon its release. To date, "8th World Wonder" has sold more than 70,000 copies alone - and is currently No 8 on Radio & Records Adult Contemporary chart. Her ONE LOVE album debut entered at No 16 upon its release earlier this summer.
Kimberly Locke tour dates with full live band will be announced shortly. Cities will include West Springfield, MA; Alexandria, VA; Minneapolis, MN; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; Dayton, OH; Raleigh NC, New York City, and Atlantic City.
