Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' Sets Spotify Record!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Daft Punk's new album has broken a US Spotify record. 'Random Access Memories' had previously set a number of new one-day records across the world as it went on sale globally last week.
It has now toppled Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' as the most streamed album on Spotify in the US in its first week, with the British folkers previously chalking up more than eight million plays.

Daft Punk's mega-hit Get Lucky has been streamed on Spotify more than 28 million times around the world, a figure we know because the music-streaming service recently started displaying song play counts. Indeed, Get Lucky was breaking streaming records from its very first day of launch back in April.

The music streaming service added that Daft Punk are "on track" to have the biggest first-week plays of any album in Spotify's existence.

The record topped the UK chart on Sunday (May 26), becoming the fastest selling album of the year in the country.

'Random Access Memories' is only Daft Punk's fourth studio album, with their last record coming in the shape of 2005's 'Human After All'.
