Boston (Top40 Charts/ McMullen & Company PR) Jazz composer, pianist and recording artist Matt
Savage will return to the Regattabar in Cambridge, MA for a special concert on Tuesday, June 18th at 7:30 PM.
Friends joining Matt on stage include Boston-area bassist and jazz great Bruce Gertz along with drummer Richie Barshay (who has toured with
Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea). Other special guests include Mark Zaleski (alto and soprano sax), Erena Terakubo (alto sax), Javier
Rosario (guitar) and Song Yi Jeon (vocals). Tickets are $16 ($12 student tickets are available through June 4).
Three of the musicians performing with
Savage -- Bruce Gertz, Richie Barshay and Mark Zaleski -- are also featured on Matt Savage's upcoming album, "A Bigger Celebration," which will be released in
September 2013. Regattabar attendees will get a preview of many of the original songs on the new album, including the fast-paced and harmonically intense title track. The Regattabar concert will also feature a selection of songs from Matt's previous studio album, "Welcome Home," and classic jazz standards.
"I'm looking forward to returning to the Regattabar and kicking off my summer concerts with a big dose of fun and celebration, which is what the new album is all about," says Matt Savage, who just graduated from Berklee College of Music. "It's been an intense year of studying and touring, and now it's time to let the music festivities begin."
The Regattabar is located in the Charles Hotel at 1
