"You Better Call Someone" features a wide array of musical styles, from upbeat swinging blues sounds to the slower folksy sound of "Turn Out The Light," featuring Jenny Sipprelle on lead vocals. The final track, "Toxic Cameo," is entirely instrumental.
Whatever the listener is looking for they will find it on Carlson's "You Better Call Someone." "I like mixing traditional music with new off-the-wall ideas while keeping the heart connected, and expressing how I feel about common situations--love, loss, joy," says Carlson. "If I can relate to people through music than I've done my job."
Rob Carlson worked with a wide group of people for the production and recording of "You Better Call Someone," including Jeff Root, Guilherme Vaz, and Frank Basile. Carlson engineered, mixed, arranged and played guitars, bass, keys, and vocals for 5 of the 7 tracks on the record.
