Toronto, ON (Top40 Charts/ Skylar Entertainment) Winnipeg R&B female vocalist Flo will be bringing her sassy grooves to Toronto as part of the annual North By North East Festival. Having shared the stage with world class artists Lauryn Hill, Boys II Men and Toronto's own
Divine Brown, there is no doubt Flo's velvety alto voice and soulful delivery will leave a lasting impression.
The new single and video "Gone" was just released and Flo explains ""Gone" is a song that speaks about the heart-wrenching, angst-filled break-up that we've all experienced. When the one you thought you loved breaks your heart and turns your world upside down. But you later realize, that it's a good thing that they're gone. That you're stronger, and a better person now that he's GONE." Videographer Michael Sanders from Electric Monk Media captured that sentiment in the gorgeous dramatic video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy2qY9tCRQE
Flo's sophomore album Pieces of Me was released last year and was honoured with the 2012 Western Canadian
Music Award for Urban Recording of the Year. The pop-infused soul record, with elements of R&B, dance, and hip-hop was produced by fellow WCMA winner Arun Chaturvedi. "It's been an evolution, as is the nature of being an artist: we evolve and change with time and with each new project," says Flo. "The first album was more jazzy-R&B, the sophomore album definitely moves into more of a pop direction. I feel as if the third album will have more of a soul flair to it."
Flo will take the stage at the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom during this year's NXNE on Friday, June 14 at 8pm in Toronto, Ontario. https://www.flosoul.com/
"Miss O, or Flo as she goes, has the kind of vocal power and sass that only a select few divas possess, and her ability to shift gears from intense ballads to sticky and sweet dance tunes and back to between-the-sheets scorchers is the stuff of future legends." - Winnipeg Free Press
