New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Atlantic Records has announced the upcoming release of "LETTERS I NEVER SENT" from GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Philip Lawrence. The eagerly anticipated album arrives everywhere on June 11th.
"LETTERS I NEVER SENT" marks an extraordinary solo debut for Lawrence -- best known as one-third of The Smeezingtons, the award-winning songwriting/production team also comprising Ari Levine and the one and only Bruno Mars. Songs such as "
Just Breathe" reveal Lawrence's own remarkable gifts as singer and performer, immediately establishing him as a striking new artist (see below track listing). All tracks were written by Lawrence, in collaboration with GRAMMY-nominated nominated guitarist/producer Jean-Yves"Jeeve"Ducornet (Santana, 2Pac) and songwriter Michael Diskint.
"This album is an honest expression of the happenings in my life," says Lawrence. "It was such a personal, cathartic experience for me: an opportunity to really dig deep about the issues I've been going through in my life."
Lawrence, who has always been a fan of folk and rock music, found himself inspired by artists like Billy Joel, Seal and
Lenny Kravitz while creating his own sound in "LETTERS I NEVER SENT."
Lawrence and The Smeezingtons have proven among pop's all-time most prolific and popular songwriting/production units, earning countless awards and "Producer of the Year, Non-Classical" nominations for two consecutive GRAMMY® Awards. The team burst onto the airwaves in 2008, creating hits for such artists as Natasha Bedingfield, K'naan, and Matisyahu, but truly came into its own two years later with a series of unstoppable #1 singles including B.o.B's "Nothin' On You (Feat.
