New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Australian alternative punk rock trio The Naddiks have released their new flagship LP, "Amber Sun." The record is comprised of 11 original tracks for a total playing time of approximately 45 minutes. A raw, heavy-hitting set of instant Naddiks classics, "Amber Sun" is effective medicine for audiophiles who have become tired of overproduced music industry schlock, and a perfect introduction to one of the modern day's most unrepentant rock groups.
The Naddiks are Kurt Schiffer on bass, Joel Steenbergen on guitar and vocals, and Nick Steenbergen on percussion. Their mix of musical backgrounds, which is steeped in grunge rock, proto-punk rock, and more, and which spans a range of performance expertise, gives The Naddiks an earnest, creative edge that cannot ever be faked, and which most artists would never attempt to emulate.
They name as main artistic influences rockers who have floated both in the gutters of public opinion and on the clouds of critical acclaim, artists such as The Vines, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, AC/DC, and Iggy Pop. They have also many of the best attributes of legendary bands like The Germs, Angry Samoans, and The Sex Pistols.
Speaking of the style and production of their new record, "Amber Sun," Naddiks manager Richard Schiffer writes, "The album is new- and old-school with influences from past and present greats, using both new and old technology to create an experience in sound."
This unlikely sonic experience, although extremely unique and hard to categorize in the music world today, can be described using appropriately strong adjectives. Naddiks music is intelligent, creative, and comes from non-negotiable artistic principles. It is also often brutal by nature, occasionally nihilistic, and can sound gorgeously brooding. Their album's sonorous and deceptively simple closing ballad, "Still I'm Sad," is almost certainly one of the best rock songs of 2013 so far.
"Amber Sun" by The Naddiks is available online worldwide beginning early summer, 2013.
