Philadelphia, PA. (Top40 Charts/ Lacy James official website) Philadelphia listening room Jamey's House of
Music (aka the PSALM Salon) will present eclectic art rock/alternative artist Lacy
James in a full band show on Saturday, July 27th, 2013 at 8pm. Jamey's House of
Music is an all ages venue located at 5841 Overbrook Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Venue phone: 215-477-7578. Tickets are $16 in advance, $20 at the door and can be purchased through the venue's website at https://www.psalmsalon.com/schedule.html
Currently based in Brooklyn, the singer-songwriter is touring in support of her new album Circles of Swallows, which like her previous album Lovefeast was produced in Philadelphia.
Lacy's work has been likened to that of Kate Bush,
Peter Gabriel, Portishead, Ellie Goulding,
Bon Iver and Tori Amos, among many others. M
Music and Musicians magazine writes: "electro-tinged earth-child folk fantasias....
James sets bold, mystical lyrics to clattering bits of percussion and off-kilter keyboard programming, turning coffeehouse-chanteuse tropes inside out."
"I'm excited to be playing in Philadelphia again, and in such a special room," says James, who has also spent time in New York City due to her work as a dancer and choreographer. "This city has been a great inspiration to me in both my music and my life. One of the songs on the new album is actually kind of a love song to Philadelphia, so we'll be sure to perform that one! I've lived here off and on for many years, and I'm thrilled to have some wonderful Philly players and friends joining us for this show."
This intimate, audiophile quality setting of Jamey's will be an ideal venue in which to experience Lacy's songs. Her music travels through rock, singer-songwriter and world music genres, incorporating everything from Persian hammered dulcimer to Celtic whistle -- held together by atmospheric keyboards and guitars, Lacy's distinctive vocals and her vivid lyrical imagery.
Lacy will be performing with a full band including some of the musicians appearing on Circles of Swallows, featuring multi-instrumentalist Tony Mascara on Persian hammered dulcimer and various other instruments, guitarist/keyboardist Tim Daoust, drummer Alec Meltzer and bassist Jeff Hiatt, who produced the new album with Lacy at Philadelphia's Turtle Studios.
