LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Play_rewind_eject official website) After ten years of touring the UK in Ipswich based band Hayze, singer songwriter Pete Thompson naturally gathered a large amount of stories of life on the road. From supporting The Stranglers, to getting their single mixed by Dan Hawkins of The Darkness, the band had great times and they had really bad times, but all the while Pete kept writing and by the time the band broke up in 2010, a mountain of untouched songs and new ideas had evolved. And so play_rewind_eject was born.
Pete soon recorded and released his debut album, 'Never Before but Maybe Again' and follow up EP, 'Chelsea Bikes', gaining comparisons to U2, The Cure, Bob Dylan and even Buddy Holly along the way! Both releases were given away for free from the play_rewind-eject website and fans now keenly re-engage with Pete as a solo artist supporting him at his many live shows (performed when he isn't spending hour upon hour in the studio!)
The new album 'Back to Forward' has been produced by Pete himself who also plays every instrument (including programming the drums), working alongside top mastering engineer Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Razorlight, Jack White) in providing the finishing touches. "It's a very British sounding album...it's got big choruses and guitar solos which are great!" enthused Maher on hearing the finished album. With accolades like this from industry professionals the future is looking bright for play_rewind_eject.
